At what point do you stop considering people friends? Like, it’s been almost 5 years since I moved away from my hometown, these people have never come to visit me and expect me to go to them and they’ll try to fit me in, they don’t like my Facebook posts, they didn’t even come to my wedding. Like am I supposed to keep tabs on “friends” on socials forever and ever but actual friendship never happens? When do I cut it off?

After collecting "friends" online and through work, church, etc, there does come a time where interaction is not happening.
I make the choice whether to respond, even send them a Happy Birthday message on Facebook, on an individual basis.

@solusspider High key annoyed at FB for not better informing me of birthdays. But they’ll give me a notification for everything TobyMac posts? Why, I have no clue.

I have the same issue. I stopped visiting people in my hometown years ago, with the exception of my family. I've removed many connections on Facebook because they're no longer a part of my life, so I don't need them having a window into it. If they're not actively involved in some respect, they're just not my friends. That's a term that very few people get.
